Terms of Service
Last updated June 15, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your purchase and use of Forq, a paid Visual Studio Code extension (“Forq”, the “Software”). By purchasing a license or installing and using the Software, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.
1. License
Forq is sold as a one-time purchase. Your payment grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Software. A single license key activates the Software on one machine at a time. You may move your license to another computer by deactivating it on the first machine (via the “Forq: Deactivate License on This Machine” command) and then activating it on the new one. If you need to run Forq on more machines simultaneously, purchase additional license keys.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Resell, sublicense, rent, or redistribute the Software or your license key.
- Circumvent, disable, or tamper with license activation or validation.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except to the extent that restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
3. Payments and licensing provider
Payments and license fulfillment are processed by a company called Dodo Payments, our merchant of record. Your purchase is also subject to Dodo Payments’ own terms. Prices are shown at checkout and may change for future purchases; a price change never affects a license you have already bought.
4. Cancellations and refunds
Forq is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, so there is nothing to cancel on a recurring basis. Because Dodo Payments is the merchant of record for every purchase, all refund requests are handled through them and are subject to Dodo Payments’ own refund policy.
Depending on where you live, consumer law may give you a statutory window to withdraw from a purchase; but because Forq is downloadable digital content, that right ends once you start downloading or using the Software after consenting to immediate access at checkout. Outside any applicable window, refunds are at Dodo Payments’ discretion and reviewed case by case. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method, normally within 14 days of approval.
To request a refund, email support@forq.ink with your order details (the order reference from your checkout receipt) and we will help coordinate the request with Dodo Payments. Full details are on our Refund Policy page.
5. Claude Code and other third-party services
Forq drives the native Claude CLI (“Claude Code”, by Anthropic) inside VS Code. It launches the CLI locally on your machine and sends it commands, the same way you would in a terminal. You must install Claude Code yourself and sign in with your own Anthropic account. Your use of Claude Code runs under your own agreement with Anthropic, including their usage policies and any usage costs, and you are responsible for complying with them.
Forq never proxies, stores, resells, or reuses your Anthropic account, credentials, API access, or subscription, and is not a reseller of Anthropic services or a means of sharing one subscription among users. Forq is an independent product and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Anthropic. “Claude”, “Claude Code”, and “Anthropic” are trademarks of Anthropic, used here only to describe what the Software works with.
Forq also offers optional integrations that are off until you turn them on: syncing your issue board with Linear, and suggesting issue titles through Google’s Gemini API when you supply your own key. Each runs under your own account with that provider and is subject to that provider’s terms. If you never enable them, no data is shared with them. See our Privacy Policy for what leaves your machine.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
The Software is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. You are responsible for your code, your version control, and your backups.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will Forq or its operator be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenue arising from your use of the Software. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Software will not exceed the amount you paid for your license.
8. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version. Continued use of the Software after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
