Privacy Policy
Last updated June 15, 2026
Forq is built to be offline-first. Your code, ideas, and the issue board live on your own machine, not on our servers. This policy explains the limited data that does leave your machine and why.
1. What stays on your machine
Your workspaces, git worktrees, ideas, and issues are stored locally as plain files (for example, issues as JSON in your project). Your source code and the contents of your coding agent sessions are never sent to us. The issue board runs fully offline.
2. Your coding agent (Claude Code)
Forq drives the native Claude CLI (Claude Code, by Anthropic). It launches the CLI locally on your machine and sends it commands; it does not sit between you and Anthropic. When you run a session, the prompts and code you give the agent travel directly from your machine to Anthropic under your own Anthropic account and Anthropic’s privacy policy — not through us, and we never receive that data. Forq does not proxy, store, or reuse your Anthropic credentials or subscription, and is not affiliated with Anthropic.
3. License activation and validation
When you activate a license key, the Software contacts our licensing provider, a company called Dodo Payments, to verify the key and bind it to your machine. This involves your license key and a machine identifier. Activation requires a connection only once; afterwards the Software trusts the activation on that machine and keeps working offline.
4. Payment information
Purchases are processed by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record. Your payment details (card numbers and similar) are handled by Dodo Payments and their payment processors — we never see or store them. We receive order and license information needed to fulfill and support your purchase, such as your email address and order reference. Dodo Payments’ handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policy.
5. Optional Linear sync
Forq can optionally sync your issues with Linear if you connect it. This is off by default. When you enable it, issue data is exchanged directly between your machine and Linear under your own Linear account and their privacy policy. If you never connect Linear, no issue data is shared.
6. Optional AI issue titles (Google Gemini)
Forq can suggest issue titles using Google’s Gemini API, but only if you add your own Gemini API key — it is off by default. When it is on, the only thing sent is the issue description you are titling, transmitted directly from your machine to Google’s Gemini API under your own key and Google’s privacy policy. Leave the key unset and title generation stays fully offline, with nothing sent to Google.
7. What we do not do
- We do not collect or transmit your source code to our servers.
- We do not run analytics or tracking inside the extension.
- We do not sell your data.
8. Data retention
Local data stays on your machine until you delete it. License and order records held by us and by Dodo Payments are kept as long as needed to provide support, honor your license, and meet legal and accounting obligations.
9. Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you (primarily your order and license records). Email support@forq.ink and we will respond, including for requests that concern payment records held by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version.
